In fact our project of root carving is a major part of reforestation. By using the roots which were left behind to rot it is actually clearing the path for new trees to be planted. All roots must be removed before a tree can be planted.

| The root carving houses maintain an inventory of roots in their "raw state", selecting from their inventory the particular roots and sizes of roots that they need to carve any particular customer order for baskets, bowls, and plates. |
